Initially, the company embarked on government sponsored microwave materials research and development programs primarily for military applications. The transfer of materials technology from military to the commercial communications market fueled the growth of the company and defined the evolution of the ECCOSORB® product line.
Today, Emerson & Cuming Microwave Products operates globally with manufacturing plants in Westerlo, Belgium and Randolph, Massachusetts in the US. Emerson & Cuming Microwave Products stands out as the only ISO9001 certified manufacturer of absorbing, shielding and specialty dielectric materials.
These manufacturing plants are equipped with over 151,000 sq. ft. of factory space combined. Both manufacturing plants offer a wide range of capabilities and a new fully automated carbon production facilities capable of producing more than 10,000 square feet of dipped and sprayed carbon foam products each week.
Full scale R&D laboratories at each of our facilities are equipped to measure both electromagnetic, mechanical, and chemical properties in accordance with ASTM standards.
