DF-A0038 - DIRECTION FINDING & MONITORING ANTENNA
(20 - 3000 MHz)
The DF-A0038 is a direction finding antenna that covers a frequency range of 20 MHz to 3 GHz. An integrated active monitoring antenna, working up to 3 GHz, gives a high sensitivity omni on the same axis as the DF antenna without interference between them.
The full-size elements on all bands give excellent DF sensitivity. Ultimate angular resolution for strong signals is well under 1º for most of the frequency range. Dipole elements provide good cross-polarisation rejection, and fair performance for signals arriving from up to 15° above or below the horizon.
The integrated monitoring antenna is in two bands, mounted above the Band C DF antenna. These are amplified at the top of the cable, and passively combined to give continuous coverage over the frequency range 20 MHz to 3 GHz, with a single output connector. A 6 GHz option is available.
This DF antenna is designed to be used with a 2-channel phase-sensitive receiver, and correlative algorithm. Characterisation of the antenna can be performed on request.
DF-A0057 - OUTDOOR HOUSING FOR DF SWITCHES
(1 - 6000 MHz)
The DF-A0057 is a waterproof enclosure designed for housing our DF switch range. It allows the switches for the DF-A0052, DF-A0054, DF-A0058 or DF-A0064, which are intended for indoor mounting, to be mounted to the DF-A0001, DF-A0007, DF-A0038 or DF-A0062 antennas.
The switch has a mounting arrangement compatible with most Poynting mast-mount DF antennas. The TNC connections to the DF antenna are protected from the weather. The output N-type connectors, and power/data connectors, are protected by a drip lip.
Standard control of the switch inside is by RS485. Ethernet and Fibre-Ethernet converter options are available.
This product should be ordered together with the required RF switch, and will be supplied fully integrated and tested.
DF-A0058 - 5-CHANNEL BAND SWITCH WITH OMNI AMPLIFIERS
(1 - 3600 MHz)
The DF-A0058 is a 3-band, 5-channel DF switch. It is particularly suitable for band selection and omni amplification on our DF-A0038 direction finding antenna with built-in omni-directional monitoring antenna. The switch is designed to be mounted internally within the weatherproof cavity provided in some of our DF antennas, e.g. the DF-A0029 and DF-A0037, and externally for antennas such as the DF-A0001 and DF-A0038 when protected by the DF-A0057.
The switch comprises five parallel channels, each with input power limiting, ESD protection, low noise amplifier and band switch.
An omni channel amplifier module amplifies the omni channel, and injects the DC required to power the mast-head amplifier inside the DF-A0038.
